Search Engine Marketing – Tool to Get Success in Online Market
Businesses need to advertise their products and services. Many organisations and individuals list their products and services on their websites as the number of Internet users has been increasing and customers prefer to see the product listing compare prices of various companies on the Internet. This allows the customer to make smart choices without depriving him of the comforts of home. For optimal utilisation of the website, enough traffic should be driven to that particular website. This is done by Internet advertising, an important chunk of which is Search Engine Marketing.
Search engine marketing relates to search engines such as Google, Yahoo, AltaVista, MSN, AOL and Lycos. If the website appears on the first page after searching through a particular search engine, the probability of the Internet user visiting it is more as compared to it appearing on subsequent pages. Search engine marketing increases the chances of the website appearing among the top few with a large range of keywords which in turn increases the number of visitors to the website. There are no set standards for this. Different methods of marketing work for different kinds of offerings.
The most popular way of search engine marketing is search engine optimisation. This includes link baiting where articles and blogs with a lot of keywords that can lead to the website are included. This makes users who get free access to informative stuff visit the website and bring along with them more traffic. Sometimes, web designers add an invisible page to the website or the link with all the relevant keywords. The placement of keywords on the web pages is also significant. Another method that is widely used is pay per click where professionals are made to artificially visit the website and thus attract more public as most search engines return more frequently visited websites. One can also resort to paid advertising on search engines.
The search engines charge the website owners according to the number of visits to their web page. They charge extra for any sales made via search engines. There are professional SEO (Search engine optimizers) available who review the website and make necessary changes in the content as well as the Html coding for optimization and solve indexing issues.
One must ensure that one chooses the SEO according to one’s needs and products. A seller of small items must not spend a fortune on marketing as Search Engine Marketing does not guarantee any yields. It can increase the visitors to your website but not necessarily lead to increase in sales. The website owner can monitor results for a period of time and decide accordingly. For better results, the website must be user friendly and must describe all the offerings in detail along with requisite illustrations.
SEM has been widely used all over the world and gives ensures quick visibility for new businesses. One can, however, use it in combination with other Internet advertising forms for optimal results. Once you have mastered the tips of search engine marketing, there is no way to beat you in competition.

Google SEO Update, Yahoo Update, Bing Fun & Google Local Blunder
http://www.SERoundtable.com/ – This week, I try to get fancier with my video set up and integrate multiple video sources, including my monitor – let’s see how that goes. I posted the Google webmaster report for January. There were rumors Caffeine went live, but it did not. More people are seeing the Google blue Jazz interface. Malware is becoming a bigger and bigger issues. Was there a Yahoo Search update or was it the paid inclusion results being removed? Google’s local business privacy blunder caused some overall concern. Google may return the SEO and web design local pack? Bing says they are slow and recommends you spam Digg or Yahoo Buzz. Microsoft adCenter offered free clicks, well – not really. AdWords tests a CPA lead form and also click to call on mobile phones. Also, most PPCers have participated in bid wars, while most advertisers are not afraid to make changes to their accounts. Finally Googlers were working on New Years and Google animated their logo for Issac Newton. That was this past week at the Search Engine Roundtable.

Rhea Saves SEO, PageRank Details, On Google & Ask Search Ads
http://www.SERoundtable.com – In this week’s recap I thank Rhea and the others who helped save the term “SEO” from being trademarked. Matt Cutts was interviewed by Eric Enge and he uncovered a nice amount of information, including PageRank information. A poll we published show only 13% felt Google PageRank was “very important.” Some are speculating that the Caffeine index is now live. Google has more issues that they had to deal with. Google opened up the “Google certified ad network” to all AdSense publishers. Google asks publishers if they would show pharmacy and alcohol ads. Ask Sponsored Listings is now hiding referrers. Google and Viacom go it in court over YouTube. SES NY is next week, we will be covering 41 sessions. In our logo roundups, Google showed the wrong colors on Hungary National Day. I also showed you the logos from St. Patrick’s Day and Google’s Pi Day logo. That was this past week at the Search Engine Roundtable.

The Evolution of Search Engine Marketing
The Evolution of Search Engine Marketing The world of search
engine marketing (SEM) is in constant evolution. With increased
numbers of search engines, and evolution in the techniques and
technologies used, SEM is becoming a tool industries cannot
afford to do without. Trends all over the world show that the
pressure for SEM services is starting to come from their
customers. Indeed, SEM is quickly evolving as the buzzword in a
new, technology-driven advertising and on line marketing space.
As a result, companies that are serious about their internet
presence are making search engine marketing a key component in
their advertising campaign.
Google, Yahoo and MSN own the majority of the search engine
market share, with Google being the strongest. AOL, Ask Jeeves
and Altavista capture smaller shares in the market, while a
number of other geographically-specific and market-specific
search engines compete in their own niches. In a study conducted
in July 2005, Nielson/Netratings reported that the search engine
market share was highest for Google at 48%. Yahoo and MSN had
the market shares of 22% and 12% respectively.
MSN and Google were also the top destinations for most online
purchases, reported a study conducted by comScore Networks (June
2005). The study highlighted that iMSN searchers were 48% more
likely to buy online than the average Internet user. Google
users were 42% more likely to buy online than the average
Internet user. It also came to notice that while Google searches
looked for more sophisticated search terms, simple broad term
searches occurred for AOL, Yahoo and MSN.
One thing is becoming clearer today: Search engine advertising
is not another Internet bubble, it is driven by users and the
fact that people, everywhere, need to go somewhere to search and
find information. Take China for example – who’s heard of
Baidu.com? Not too many people. It’s a Chinese search engine
that has been around for 5 years and is the World’s 6th
most-visited Internet site, thanks to China’s fast growing
internet market, currently with more just over 100 million Web
surfers. Baidu is recently went through an initial public
offering where is share price when from $27 to $150 in the
period of a day. And what about Google? It recently reported
quarterly revenues of $1.4 billion. Google’s revenues excluding
its payments for other Web sites in its advertising network
jumped to $890 million, an increase of 110% from a year before
and above the expected $842 million.
US Online Marketing Forecast: 2005 to 2010 by Forrester Research
(May 2005) revealed that the arena for search engine marketing
is all set to rise and will show growth of 33% in 2005.
Forecasts reveal that the figures will reach $11.6 billion by
2010. Display advertising, which includes traditional banners
and sponsorships, will grow at the average rate of 11% the next
five years to $8 billion by 2010. US online advertising and
marketing spending will reach $14.7 billion in 2005, a 23%
increase over 2004. Trends also showed that while SEM is set to
become more effective than traditional marketing channels,
barriers include a lack of online advertising experience.
However, Search Engine Marketing firms are embracing this new
branch of advertising and their customers are reaping the
extremely lucrative rewards.
